pilot episode

Hey there reader (you are most likely a family member or my boyfriend)...

Whoever you are, that you for reading my blog! My motivation for this blog comes from my first blog attempt, (a)broad, but I did not advertise that one or post more than twice. Whoops! Also, I recently spent 5 life-changing, beyond amazing months in the Dominican Republic where I met my wonderful boyfriend Alexander, and found the inspiration for my next adventure while studying Spanish abroad. I will be on a plane to Sweden in about 15 days (Ok, let's pretend here that I'm not counting down the seconds until I get out of the states(and more importantly Buffalo). I'll stay there for about two months and live with Alexander's delightful family...we plan to travel to Venice, Norway, Germany, and possibly Spain and France as well!

After those exciting few months, I will be "meandering" towards the wild, wild west for roughly a month, with my close friend, Tim! We will visit (only our favorite)friends and family along the way, ending the trip at my awesome sister's apartment (shared with "boyf-Mike") in Seattle, Washington! Anyways, back to me..ha. As probably NONE of you know, I absolutely love writing short stories and diary entries as a hobby and writing papers for class as a form of torture... I would love to try and blog my experiences of traveling, meandering, moving, living, learning, loving, hating and exploring myself, my world and the other cool people in it. I'll do my best to stay current on here, keep me honest please!

I'll try to answer any questions, complete and report back on any interesting, embarrassing, crazy or fun things you guys can come up with for me to do! Also, if some of you were wondering where the coolest blog name ever came from, it came to me on a walk home while I was thinking about how fun it would be to backpack anywhere for a year or two...I also realized (epiphany!) that we all sort of pack or hold our life experiences (loves, travels, heartbreak, change...) on our backs, ergo...your life in a backpack! It just describes what my blog will cover and I hope you like it!

Thanks for reading, keep filling up those backpacks :)
